Introduction
The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for the use of closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems at Webb Hotel Group properties which comprises:

Moor Hall Hotel and Spa, Sutton Coldfield

The George Hotel, Lichfield

The Cathedral Hotel, Lichfield

The Gables Hotel, Falfield

Policy Statement

The Company is committed to maintaining a secure environment for its guests, employees and property.  CCTV systems are used to deter crime, monitor safety and assist in the investigation of incidents.  

The use of CCTV will be conducted in compliance with relevant legislation and guidance provided by the Information Commissioner’s Office and the Surveillance Camera Commissioner, to fulfil legitimate business needs, such as (but not limited to):

·        complying with regulatory and statutory obligations
·        assessing compliance with the health and safety policy
·        preventing and detecting crime.

All use of CCTV will be conducted in a professional, ethical and lawful manner.  Intrusion of privacy will always be kept to a minimum. 

Cameras are located in various public areas including entrances, lobbies, hallways, parking areas and other locations where security concerns are prevalent.  Cameras are not placed in private areas such as guest rooms, restrooms or changing areas.

For how long does the Company keep CCTV?

CCTV footage will be stored securely and only for a limited time.  In normal circumstances it will be deleted after 30 days unless the information could be relevant to an investigation or possible legal claim.

Access Control

Those who have access to CCTV will always be kept to a minimum and they must comply with the Company’s GDPR Data Protection Policy.

Requests for Access

Requests for access to recorded footage by individuals or external parties must be made in writing to HR, hr@webbht.co.uk.  

The request must include:

• a specific date and time
• proof of your identity
• a description of yourself

Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis ensuring compliance with data protection laws.

Review and Monitoring

This policy will be reviewed regularly or whenever there are significant changes in legislation or operational procedures and will be amended accordingly.
