About Us
Originally constructed in the 1500s, Moor Hall served as the residence of Bishop Vesey, a host to frequent royal gatherings. Rebuilt in the 1800s, the current Moor Hall was established in 1903 by Colonel Ansell of brewing renown, who lived here with his family and a staff of ten.
In 1961, Michael Webb acquired Moor Hall with a vision alongside a friend, recognizing Sutton Coldfield's need for a venue offering late-night entertainment. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Moor Hall became celebrated for its lively dancing and vibrant social scene.
From its origins as a gentleman’s residence with just 19 rooms, Moor Hall has evolved into the cherished family owned 4-star country house hotel that it is today.
The hotel now features 83 bedrooms, two distinctive restaurants, a welcoming bar, a rejuvenating spa and leisure club and versatile meeting and event spaces. The grounds boast a historic sunken garden and tranquil woodlands, offering guests a serene escape.
Whether you're visiting for a spa day, an overnight stay, a meeting, dining or celebrating a special occasion we look forward to welcoming you to Moor Hall very soon.
